Presentation
This is a competitive ultra-trail but for most of
the participants the most important will be arriving to the end and
become a "finisher" of the ultra-trail. The ultra-trail is partially
marked but in some places the use of the route book, provided by the
organization, may be necessary.
Route
The route follows most of the GR-221 (Route of the
dry-stone). The ultra-trail starts in Sant Telm in front of Sa Dragonera
Island, and goes across the most interesting part of the Mallorca
mountains, like the "Cami des General", "Camï de s'Arxiduc" and
Biniaraix gourge, along with several mountain villages like Estellencs,
Banyalbuffar, Valldemossa, Deià and Sóller. The route is around 102 km
in length with a positive accumulated ascent of 4220 m.


The tour will include a series of mandatory pass
points, indicated on the route book. On the mandatory pass points may
include pass controls, self controls (both indicated on the control
card) and surprise controls. The self controls consist of a clamps that
needs to be used on the control card. There may be changes of the route
depending on the weather and pass permits
Starting point
The ultra-trail will stat at Sant Telm village on
the South West of Mallorca, near Andratx. The exact point in Sant Telm
is the junction of "Cala En Basset" street and "La Trapa" Avenue, see
the map bellow:

Self-sufficiency, refreshment posts
The ultra-trail is on food self-sufficiency. The
route book will indicate fountains and places where to get water and
where they are not available there will be refreshment posts. Avoid your
relatives or friend sto provide you with food or material as this will
be cause of disqualification. Valldemossa control point or relatives can
be used to leave weigh as a front lamps or a piece of equipment.
Security
Each participant is on his/her own risk. We
recommend each participant to look for one or two colleagues and make
the ultra-trail together. Each group is recommended to carry a cell
phone and a survival blanket.
In case you find a participant in trouble it is
mandatory to provide your assistance, not doing so is a reason of
disqualification.
Equipment
- Required:
- Front lamp or torche
- Water reserve, minimum half a liter, 1 liter
advised

- Protective raincoat
- Energy bars and food (about 3000 or 4000 kcal
advisable, equivalent to 750 to 1000 g of bars or carbohydrates)
- Sun cream, adhesive elastic band, vaseline,
money, klinex
- Mountain running shoes, technical clothing,
clock
- Each small group: survival blanket and cell
phone
The organization will provide a route book with
maps, position of controls, refreshment posts, fountains, ultra-trail
profile, timetable, emergency phones and public transportation
timetables (to use in case of withdrawal)

telèfons d'emergència, horaris d'autobusos (per si s'ha d'abandonar)
Withdrawals
In case of withdrawall this needs to be communicated to a control
point or to the organization phones that will be facilitated.
The participant will need to look for transport by his/her own means.
Registration
Registration for 2009 is closed. We will organize
again the race on 2010.

Ultra-trail regulations
- The ultra-trail is open to everybody over 18
years of age
- The control card needs to be picked up at the
departure, seal it at all control points and delivered on arrival.
- The routed indicated in the route book needs
to be followed at all times
- The controls have a time limit, indicated on
the control card, participants passing after that time will be
disqualified.
- The organization won't provide transport
means to the withdraw or disqualified participants
- The organization is not responsible for
accidents and damages on the participants or produced by them.
- When the ultra-trail follows a paved public
road it is mandatory to go on the left and switch on the lamp during
the night.
- The organization reserve the right to make
the changes to the regulations that they believe are necessary for
the best development of the ultra-trail.
- The failure to follow a regulation by a
participant will mean his/her disqualification or a time penalty
- It is also reason of disqualification throw
garbage, make excessive noise (specially in the villages and during
the nigth) or use any means of transport. Also you need to leave the
cattle gates and other gates as you find them, open or closed.
- Bad weather won't be a reason to cancel the
ultra-trail, although the organization may change the route or
suspend it if necessary
- Any case not provided by these regulations
will be determined by the organization.
